1WHY SHOULD I USE NAIMEYA PLATFORM?
We have a wide knowledge about the destinations and programs we offer so we can assure you a reliable experience. If it is your first time embarking on an international volunteering program, we are happy to help you in any possible way to make out of it one of your life experiences.
2WHY SHOULD I TO PAY MANAGEMENT FEES?
Management fees are 90€, why? Because there is a person who is dedicating his time to take care of all your doubts by offering the following services to all our volunteers: guidance and detailed information before your trip , assistance throughout your stay for any problems that may arise, safe housing and organized in advance and a satisfactory experience in a preselected and appropriate project for you.
3WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR VOLUNTEERING WHEN I WORK FOR FREE?
Most volunteer programs are in southern countries and organizations leading the projects do not have sufficient resources to cover the costs of accommodation and meals for volunteers. These organizations don´t receive any support from the government and depend on the work and financial support of volunteers to move forward with their projects. Some organizations provide free room and food for volunteers, but this is usually when they stay long or when they will do an internship.
4WHAT MEANS TO BE A VOLUNTEER?
- Be selfless: the volunteer does not pursue any benefit or bonus for the help He/She offers. - Be intentional: The fact of volunteering has a positive goal (looking for a change for the better in other people’s situations) and a legitimate aim (the volunteer should have the capacity to support others and their agreement) - Being justified: Meets a real need of the beneficiary of it. It is not a hobby or entertainment, the benefit of another is sought through personal efforts, moved by something, looking like we say, a justified end.
5HOW NAIMEYA KNOWS WHAT EACH PROJECT NEEDS?
We personally know all the projects we send volunteers to and we maintain constant communication with the NGOs we collaborate with so we are always updated about their projects, the activities they established to develop them and the required minimum stay. NAIMEYA is always updating the programs as they are undergoing small changes or modifications.
6SHOULD I BOOK IN ADVANCE?
Generally, reservations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance. However, we recommend you to make your reservations earlier to be always able to modify the dates of stay (arrival, departure or period of stay). Please take inaccount that the processing of your volunteering reservation does not dependjust on us but on how quickly the organization answers our requests.
7DO I HAVE TO FOLLOW A SCHEDULE DURING MY PERIOD OF STAY?
Each project has a different schedule depending on the nature of it. The number of working hours ranges between 4 and 8 hours per day depending on the activity you are involved in (morning, afternoon or part time). Normally, you will have the weekend to relax and see the surrounding.
8IS THERE A PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROJECT WHERE I WILL BE WORKING?
Yes. In each project will be a person in charge of the volunteers, ready to offer you all the help you need. NAIMEYA will provide you with all the contact details as well as notify the NGO about your arrival, your duties and any other aspect of your interest. We will give you all the information needed about your project and the data from your coordinator before you travel.
9WHAT IF I GET SICK WHILE I AM THERE?
In each project, the volunteers’ coordinator has a contact in our country in case of emergency. If the situation were to occur, you will be taken to a medical center. We advise all volunteers to have a health insurance however it is not mandatory. Through this platform, we are here to help and advise you on everything you need.
10IS THE VACCINATION MANDATORY?
Any Ministry of Health recommends all international travelers to be vaccinated one month before the trip. The recommended vaccines vary depending on the country you are visiting. The best way is to visit an international vaccination center where they will inform you about the vaccinations needed for the country you are travelling to, and they will check your general health to know if you have any particular case that requires specific medications, and if so, it is recommended to have a prescription of the necessary medications for your trip from the doctor.
11CAN I WORK IN MORE THAN ONE VOLUNTEERING PROJECT?
Yes, you can. Choose your destination and the program you want to start with and we will let you know about the other ongoing programs.
12CAN I EXTEND MY VOLUNTEERING STAY?
There would be no problem. You just have to inform the responsible of the program to check the dates and availability and you have to cover the accommodation and meals fees of the extended days. Change of flight details has to be done by the volunteer, but you can always send us an email to inform us about the changes and we are always happy to advise and help.
13DO I HAVE TO SPEAK SPANISH?
According to your level in Spanish, we will figure out what kind of projects you can collaborate on in South America.
14I DON´T WANT TO TRAVEL ALONE. ARE THERE ANY OTHER VOLUNTEERS ON DESTINATION?
Generally, yes, but usually the number of volunteers depends on the period of the year but we will always provide you with the contact of the volunteers who are in the same country so you will be able to contact them, as many of the NGOs we collaborate receive international tourists throughout the whole year.
15CAN I GO VOLUNTEER WITH FRIENDS OR MY PARTNER?
Yes. You just need to inform us in advance so we can arrange volunteer work and accommodation for both of you in the same place, provided that the organization has available programs.
